Template:Daoist Belief In the Daoist theoretical system, the term 'Infinite' ( 無極 Wuji ) is often used to designate Dao and the term 'Supreme Ultimate' ( 太極 Taiji ) is often used to designate the state of primordial chaos preceding the formation of Heaven and Earth and the separation of Yin and Yang. The concepts of Infinity and of the Supreme Ultimate are the fruits of deep reflection by Daoists on the laws of motion of the world, and are an important Daoist method for the observation of the world. The profound meaning of the Diagram of the Supreme Ultimate ( 太極圖 Taijitu ) has especially led many people to sigh in wonderment and to study it thoroughly.
